Plants of Five Continents in Brno

The Botanical Garden and Arboretum of Mendel University in Brno is among the most-admired garden paradises. The premises, covering an area of almost 11 hectares, include over 7,000 plant species, with diverse orchids and perennials being the most abundant, and 4,000 woody plants. Although the premises are situated in a location with an average annual temperature of around 8°C, this garden includes plants and woody plants of exotic Asia, spirited Latin America and even Africa and Australia. With their large diversity, the premises are divided into five thematic areas.

As part of EKOFILM, you can visit the premises free of charge on Wednesday 5. 10. and Thursday 6. 10. from 10 am to 7 pm! Moreover, a tour (in Czech) with commentary is scheduled on Thursday from 16.00 to guide the visitors around all of the five thematic sections of the garden.
