Merino-Boom – The real cost of cosy wool

Wool of merino sheep is becoming increasingly popular. At 88 percent, Australia is the world's largest producer. But animal welfare does not matter on most Australian farms. To produce as much wool as possible, the sheep are completely overbred. More skin folds produce more wool. The problem: skin folds attract fly maggots. Under what conditions is the cosy wool produced?
