SUSTAINABILITY – Sustainable architecture through the eyes of the Brno University of Technology (exhibition)

How to use books as construction material for building a library? Can a rubbish dump be considered architecture? What are the values of a post-industrial landscape? How to work with water in the context of life in the city? Does waste need to remain waste? Within global urbanism, can food production be moved to the ocean? How to prepare our homes for extreme weather?
The exhibition of projects designed by students of the Faculty of Architecture of the Brno University of Technology presents a selection of various themes related to sustainability. It’s not just about the application of “green” solutions but also about looking at sustainability itself from various perspectives and the effort that adds value to this theme instead of perceiving it as a burden or obligation. In their work, students aren’t limited by smart technological solutions, but offer also innovative approaches towards materials, landscape and society.
