EKOFILM 2025: Deal? Dýl? – A Debate on Climate and the Future at Mendel University

EKOFILM isn’t just about films. It’s also a platform for discussing the issues shaping our planet and affecting us all.

On Wednesday, September 24, students had a unique opportunity to ask questions to Petr Hladík, Minister of the Environment, Jan Grolich, Governor of the South Moravian Region and Lea Kubíčková, Vice-Rector of Mendel University and an expert in sustainable resource management and climate change.

They explored topics such as how to reduce carbon footprints while staying competitive, what the climate action plan means for the driest region in the Czech Republic and whether households or businesses waste more food.

All panelists agreed: the Green Deal isn’t just about combustion engines – it’s about modernization, investment in clean technologies, and changes that touch all of us.

Curious what the Minister of the Environment heats his home with, or where Mendel’s cafeteria food waste ends up?

Watch the full debate below. The debate was hold in Czech.

And don’t forget – EKOFILM 2025 kicks off on October 16! See you there, deal? ?
