46th EKOFILM IFF presents dramaturgical team

The 46th edition of the EKOFILM IFF is slowly drawing near. From 14 to 17 October the Moravian city of Brno will come to life with film screenings, discussions, workshops and much more – thanks to a program that will leave an indelible imprint on visitors. After all, what would a film festival be without a dramaturgical team? Experts who with a professional eye, but also sensitivity, shape the film screenings every year. Let’s meet EKOFILM’s dramaturges briefly.   

Jitka Kotrlová

Festival dramaturge and film producer. She graduated in Film Science from the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University and in Production from the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU). She has worked for numerous Czech film festivals (Karlovy Vary IFF, Finále Plzeň, Ostrava Kamera Oko, Prague IFF – Febiofest) as dramaturge or film industry organizer. She produced documentary Central Bus Station and live action film Snowing!.

Zuzana Černá

Zuzana attends Film Studies for a master’s degree at the Charles University in Prague. She works in the programme department of the Prague IFF – Febiofest, as well as for other film festivals, such as Ostrava Kamera Oko and Film Sokolov. In addition, she works with the National Film Archive, notably in oral history.

Hana Blaha Šilarová

Film producer and festival playwright. She focuses mainly on debuts and second films and last year, for instance, worked on the premiere of Never Happened. In 2018 she presented the documentary Empire Builders. She selects documentaries for the East Silver market and the Karlovy Vary IFF. She worked with DAFilms.cz and the National Film Archive as PR Manager and she has also worked for Prague IFF – Febiofest, Ji.hlava IDFF and dok.incubator. She occasionally collaborates with film periodicals such as Cinepur and dok.revue. She graduated in Production from the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) and in Film Studies from the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University.

Tomáš Poštulka

Tomáš graduated in Journalism and Film Science from the Palacký University in Olomouc. He was an intern at the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, dramaturge and script writer at the Nabalkoně theatre company, preliminary selection dramaturge for the One World documentary festival, and member of the academic team at Akademia Film Olomouc.

Martin Čech

Martin is a graduate in Environmental Studies at Masaryk University in Brno, where he is currently involved in research projects. For several years he has been cooperating on the dramaturgy of the EKOFILM festival and also helps organise the expert part of the festival program.
