The Grand Prix of EKOFIM 2009: GARBAGE WARRIOR
Do you care about where and how you live?
Are you interested in the environment, nature and culture?
Are you filmmakers?
Come to EKOFILM!
EKOFILM – the oldest international film festival about the environment and our natural and cultural heritage in Europe.
EKOFILM is for all those who care about where and how they live. The festival screens films that reveal the influence of the environment on life on Earth and vice versa. Others focus on the beauty and the interesting things about nature and our cultural heritage. Pictures that are seemingly examinations of ethnological or sociological problems can also be seen. Some films are only several minutes long, others are full-length. Some appear to be close to idyllic, others are harsh and alarming.
The Festival is competitive
Films made by experienced filmmakers, as well as the works of first-time authors, are submitted each year from around the world. Any filmmaker can submit a film for the competition, as long as the film fulfils the statute of the competition. Many films that receive awards at Ekofilm go on to receive awards at other similar international festivals. Clips on our website of the winning films of EKOFILM 2008 and 2009 show how the thematic orientation of the festival can be approached from many different angles!
