Old tradition in its new skin... Santa Claus will surely come! The title ...and the subtitle... Here comes the opening ceremony of the 38th season of the International Movie Festival Ekofilm.

This year’s season of the International Movie Festival EKOFILM is special for various reasons. First – there is this change of the organizer. In Ostrava this role was this time assumed by the Civic Associatoon Perseus.

The 38th International Movie Festival Ekofilm Has Awarded the Best Films

The closing ceremony of the 38th season of the International Movie Festival Ekofilm took place on Sunday December 9th in the multifunctional hall Gong (the Lower Part of Vítkovice), where the authors of the awarded movies received their prizes.

Back on the original scene! After fifteen years! This applies to the international movie festival EKOFILM, which will take place in December, for the first time in the Gong center in the Lower Part of Vítkovice. We all believe, that not only here but even in all other places of the Moravian-Silesian region, where particular festival actions will be held, Ekofilm will soon take roots and become naturalized. Each festival day (since the 6th till the 9th of December) will be filled with energy, dynamics and fresh ideas – of course, strictly respecting rules of the given program. Hundred-per-cent enthusiasm of all the organizing stuff guaranteed! Ekofilm is back - still something to look forward to, still something new going on!

Over 2 300 Meters Long Ecological Chain

The Christmas ecological chain has already over two kilometres of length. The participants of the The conference named The Environment and its Influence on These Days Society that took place in the Congress Hall of the Business Academy and High School in Ostrava have threaded further several hudreds of polythene bottles on the string. Every visitor of the Lower Part of Vítkovice can add his own bottle here, until Monday December 9th – and of course watch for free some of the festival movies or a part of the accompanying programme, which includes beside other things the commented sightseeings of the Microworld of Technology, the exposition situated in the historical 6. Energy Switchboard.

When Will We See The Winning Movie?

The visitors of our websites often ask when and where the winning movie of this Ekofilm Festival season is possible to see? The answer is simple: On Sunday December 9th in the Gong Hall, as a part of the closing ceremony. The declaring of the winners starts at 6 p.m. And - as usually on the Ekofilm - the entry is free for every interested person!
